What types of injury can I claim compensation for?
You are entitled by law to be compensated for any injury you sustain as a result of an accident where another party is wholly or partly to blame. Examples include:
Are there time limits for claiming?
In most cases there is a time limit of three years from the date of the accident. There are some exceptions, particularly in relation to industrial diseases. Within that period you must either obtain compensation or raise court proceedings.
How long will my claim take?
Straightforward claims where liability is not in dispute are often settled in a matter of months. Usually, however, the type of injury and the insurer's stance on liability will determine how long it will take. The obtaining of medical evidence can also cause delays.
What about paying for the case?
We offer our services on a no win, no fee basis, but can also refer you to a commercial organisation who will, on our recommendation and advice, sponsor your claim in return for a percentage of any award you receive. Our fees, in the event of obtaining compensation for you, are paid by the insurer and are separate from your award. We will not deduct any part of your settlement in respect of our fees.
Can I claim for anything other than personal injury?
You are entitled to claim for any losses that arise from an accident or injury, such as damage to personal items, expenses incurred and loss of earnings.
